Claude's communicator, WIP

Update on the communicator - I have sawed off the top right corner, so it looks less boxy now and much smoother; it does however need a piece of cardboard glued in place to seal it again. Also, I have a cover! I bought & cut up a cheap wire mesh trash can from the dollar store. Thank you, tin snips!

Second attempt yielded a circle that was big enough to accommodate the screws to keep it in place, but not look too huge. This is, I'll have to properly attach the mesh after this has been paper mached, clayed and painted [else there will be an unseemly ring of brown around the speaker]. I'll then cover the edges of the mesh with clay as well, to keep it from snagging with all of those sharp and unsafe edges. While it's off, I can see if I can get it to curve out a bit. Screws may or may not end up painted black [na na na NA na...] depending on how I think it looks.

This is really coming together. Going to work some more on it tomorrow and try to get up to at least clay done.
