Claude's Sword, WIP

So this is a shot of my ongoing [and currently stagnant] project to redo Claude's sword as seen in his in-game sprite. I'm making this one out of wood for more stability and longevity compared to the cardboard version prior. I made this with my dad back around summer-ish when the weather was nicer; I am still trying to figure out a way to do the hook-looking part on the one side of the crossguard, without it being such a hazard... I may scrap the coat hanger all together and fashion a wood piece to glue on.

The wave parts of the blade are a little smaller than I had originally planned for, and so it looks a bit like a car key, hahah. Even so it's much cleaner than my first attempt and it will look nice once it's all painted and sealed up. Planning to wrap leather cord around the hilt for a tight grip and a more real-ish look. The hilt itself is actually a pretty good bastard-length and I still need to make a pommel and attach it. I may just make a fitting for a plastic red gem and attach it there, hahah. I have some decently high hopes for this piece and I will devote some more time to its completion when I am able.
